NIEHS/EPA Centers for Children's Environmental Health and Disease Prevention Research

Centers for Children's Environmental Health and Disease Prevention Research are a jointly established network of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Research at the centers is interdisciplinary, and projects draw on the expertise of pediatricians, epidemiologists, public health specialists, and others. As part of their mandate, all 12 centers are active in community education and outreach.

The centers are strong generators of new scientific knowledge in areas including asthma, learning disabilities, and autism.
