Stefani D. Hines, MA, MS
Stefani Hines, MA, MS, is the assistant dean for assessment and an environmental health specialist at the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy in Albuquerque. Her graduate studies are in the areas of soil, water and environmental science (MS) and science education (MA). Since 1997 Ms. Hines has worked in the field of environmental health and science education, primarily in the role of communicating environmental health science to the public, students, and educators and creating best practices to utilize environmental health as a framework for teaching the basic sciences and science literacy. Ms. Hines served a 3-year term on the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Advisory Council (2006–2009) and has been affiliated with two NIEHS Core Research Centers, one at the University of New Mexico (2003–present) and the other at the University of Arizona (1998–2002). Ms. Hines was the director of the Community Outreach and Education Program at the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center at Arizona and was one of the original creators of and the lead curriculum developer for the Environmental Health Perspectives Science Education program.
